Now that the hot days of summer are finally here, some of us at Sellers Orthodontics wanted to remind all our patients about the importance of reading. Summer is a great time to catch up on your to-read list, while improving your vocabulary and critical thinking skills. Plus, it's fun!

Today, we thought we’d ask: What's on YOUR summer reading list? What are some of your favorite beach reads? Out of ideas for great summer reads? Ask us for suggestions, and our staff at Sellers Orthodontics would be happy to provide a few suggestions. Summer is finally here in Charlotte, NC, and Dr. Sellers and our team at Seller Orthodontics thought we’d ask: What’s your favorite part about summer? Is it the warm weather? The break from school and classes? Spending quality time with friends and family? Grilling barbecue in the backyard?

Congratulations! You have found the only orthodontist to see for treatment!

This testimonial is very emotional for me; finally at the age of 41, I have a smile that I am proud to share, and it is all because of Dr. Sellers’ expertise in executing the revolutionary Damon System. For those of you that think that braces are braces, think again!

My story is a long one. Due to my jaw structure, 2 cross-bites and an overbite, my case was complex. I had worn adult braces twice before meeting Dr. Sellers, but my former orthodontist had been unsuccessful in correcting any of my structural concerns. The only solution in his mind was to break my jaw or live with my smile the way that it was. Neither option was appealing to me.

When I was referred to Dr. Sellers, I was pleased to learn that he had a solution. During my consultation he immediately saw what needed attention and outlined a strategy. What I also liked about Dr. Sellers’s approach was his focus on bettering smiles not just straightening teeth.

After making the decision to work with Dr. Sellers I was informed by my former orthodontist that there was no difference between the Damon System and what they offered was that “brackets are brackets,” to quote them. This is absolutely untrue!

Since this day I have completed treatment utilizing the Damon System with Dr. Sellers and I couldn’t be happier! Not only did he deliver the results he committed to, but the courtesy and respect I received from Dr. Sellers and his staff during every appointment was just as amazing as the results I realized during treatment.

This Sunday, Dr. Sellers and team will celebrate America's 234th birthday. For most people, Independence Day is a time to celebrate, as well as commemorate, the anniversary of the signing of America's Declaration of Independence. It's also a time for most Americans to pay homage to all our soldiers - past and present - who lost their lives in battle - and those soldiers who continue to place themselves in danger every day so that Americans everywhere may celebrate our freedom.

Today, we thought we'd ask: what are your Fourth of July weekend plans? Are you heading to a barbecue? Hitting the great American open road with family?
